Visiting John Dillinger's Grave

The Crown Hill Cementary in downtown Inndianopolis has several notables buried there.  Among the famous dead are President Benjamin Harrison, three vice presidents, Eli Lilly, Richard Gaitling, who invennted the machine gun, and author and playwright Booth Tarkington.  The cemetary also has a huge Civil War memorial.

My original goal of the day was to visit John Dillinger's Grave. 

Crown Hill is huge, over twenty-six miles of road.  Martin and I were both chicken about asking where Dillinger's grave was located, but the gentleman in the cemetary's office was apparently used to death hags and even pointed out the "Star Route" on the map.

I thought it was a really interesting place and suggested we come back sometime, so we could explore it completely.  Martin, ever the smart ass, suggested we bring a picnic.

New Specs

I got my new glasses today.  I'm fairly happy with them. 

And yes, I know the calendar says 2008 but my hair says 1989, New Jersey style.  Now, you must excuse me while I go get in my Camaro in the mall parking lot.  I just bought a pair of acid-wash jeans and some Obsession perfume.

Giovanni Has Dessert With The In-Laws

Giovanni enjoyed a delightful dessert of molten chocolate cakes and my father-in-law's Louisiana coffee made in his fancy French coffee press. 

Where In The World Is Giovanni, Part II

So I think I should have done a little more research when I posted the first Where In The World Is Giovanni post.  Apparently, Mars' Cheese Castle is some sort of landmark tourist site on the highway between Chicago and Milwaukee.  I just thought it was a tacky roadside stand that sold cheese.  I had no idea it was famous.

As for the other pictures, one was the Chicago skyline and the other was the war memorial in Milwaukee.  Why, you may ask, dear and gentle readers, were we in Milwaukee?  Well, I hear it's lovely this time of year.
