This will likely be my last post from Michigan.
I've said good-bye to several people in our lives. Not like we're moving to the other side of the world, but we will be nearly four hours away.
My friend Jen, who was both my thirtieth birthday party and my fourtieth, came by.
We had our final home visit with Mia's teacher, Miss Jennifer and her para-professional, Miss Christina. They spent extra time with Mia. We were all weepy when they left. They made Mia's first school experience wonderful.
I went out to dinner that evening with my friend Beth and her daughter Jen and two of Jen's three daughters. The girls were very well-behaved and we had a lovely time. Jen and I chatted for a few hours after, and I wish I would have gotten to know Jen better.
Our friends Chip and Ann came by yesterday, with two of their three children and Ann's mom. Chip scored some boxes for me and we had a nice visit, reminiscing about our camping trip, gossip about where Chip and I both used to work and the state of the world.
Just like "home" will always be England for Martin, Michigan will always be "home" for me. Although I'm sad to be leaving in many ways, I'm so excited at our fresh start and a new place.
But now, I have many boxes that are empty awaiting me. How the hell did I get so many books?
Whatever happened to your son? Will he be joining you in Indiana? Good luck to you and your family.

Oh it smarts to pull those roots from the home soil!
Here's a witchy wish for your move to be smooth and none of your belongings go wandering off on their own. ~LA

Best of luck to you and your family in the next chapter in your "book".
