Last night was my 40th birthday party.
I had such a great time. So many people from so many walks of my life were there. It was a reunion of sorts. I got to see Darr, Tammy and Melissa from my high school days. Melissa was a surprise guest and it was wonderful to see her.
Some of my Misfit friends were there as well, Loretta, Barbara and her husband Joe, Pat was a surprise guest who almost was trapped in the Vegas airport and I was happy to host Veronica and her husband as guests in my home.
Former co-workers and good friends Holly and Jennifer were there. Jennifer was a repeat performer as she was at my 30th birthday party. Holly looks wonderful and I'm so glad to see her after such a long time. When I hugged her, she said, "You smell just the same!" and at the same time we both said, "Clinque Aromatic Elixir!"
My sister Sandi and her wife Janey were there, Sandi looking resplendent in purple.
I also was honored to see fellow bloggers Domestic Princess and Vintage Lilac and their friend Tracy, visiting from Vegas. Tracy has great hair, I so wish I could rock that style.
Prezzies! I got prezzies! I didn't even expect them! I was gifted with enough great bottles of wine, it should last me oh, at least a week. (Do my friends know me or what?) I got a bottle of my trademark perfume and candles and tea and so many wonderful things.
It was nice to see Martin's friends Tom and Kelly and Don and Lori and Kim and Eric. Kim and Eric have a tough week ahead of them and I wish them well.
I had so much fun, I wish I turned 40 more often.
You can turn 40 for at least five years. It's in the rule book somewhere!

By the way, it was really nice that you brought together such a terrific and varied group of people. You are much-loved, Lisa, and it shows!

Someone once told me that people don't really come into their own until they reach forty. Having been there, I agree. Enjoy, enjoy! It's a wonderful ride...
