Stormy Weather, by Carl Hiaasen.
I made a trip to Borders this week-end. I've had to take a bit of a break from the true crime because sometimes, it just gets to be too dark.
I've really enjoyed what I've read of Carl Hiaasen's work so far, and on a whim, I picked this novel up.
I think it was an unconscious thing, with the hurricane approaching, picking this particular book out of all the ones I haven't read of Hiaasen's.
The book, like everything else I've read of Hiaasen so far, is hilarious and fast paced with characters. I don't just mean characters in a book, I mean characters.
So far, a delightful read and although fiction, sadly true of the looting and swindling that goes on after a natural disaster of the sort of a hurricane.
We love Carl Hiassen! His characters are real characters, and some you cannot help but think he didn't really totally make up they are so crazy
