Martin and I took Mia to the Pet Expo at the Novi Expo Center. Mia had a lot of fun, she loves animals. She got to pet her first cat today.
Lots of very cute dogs. Lots of very big dogs. BIG DOGS. Irish Wolfhounds, oh my. You could put a saddle on those things. When Martin was a kid in jolly old England, his Auntie Mary had an Irish Wolfhound that used to scare the bejesus out of him since the dog was taller than he was.
The most freakish thing I saw today: West Highland White Terriers dressed in kilts. There is just something sinister and wrong with putting a dog in a skirt of any sort.
Then again, I did buy a new "collar" for my coonhound China, who loves to dress up. She is quite proud of herself and thinks she is very pretty. You can't really tell in the picture (oh and the date is STILL wrong on the digital) but her collar has little roses on the end of the lacy things.
I'm going to try the cheese! My guys like cheese, so it's a must-do!
I make the world's best turkey. (I wouldn't cook it, either, if I didn't like it!) I cover it with cooking gauze that has been soaked in melted butter, and baste over it, then peel it back and baste under it.
These days, I do it in the rotisserie, but I like the baked one better. I have only one oven, and it's not one of those big ones that you can put a turkey and four cakes in!
