Missing

I have a morbid fasination with people who go missing. One website I visit regularly is http://doenetwork.org

I think I am most affected by the unidentified bodies that are found. How can someone be so very alone in the world that when they die, no one even realizes they are gone?

I fear the vast majority of people who are missing have been victims of a violent death and their remains just haven't turned up yet. Some of them, I am sure, have made themselves go missing to escape from something in their lives. I don't think that is the majority, however.

The numbers of missing adults and children is staggering. Especially when coupled with the advances of technology today and the use of Amber Alerts.
