Wednesday, June 23, will be my anniversary of sorts.
It will actually be my third wedding anniversary. Of sorts.
You see, I have married my current husband twice. A fact he is quick to point out to me when we are fighting: "I married you TWICE!" Well, excuse me Mr. Testosterone, but I married you twice, as well. DUH!
The first time we got married, we were already engaged and planning our wedding. Due to a few legal issues, we got married legally at the courthouse in March. It was very comic. We live on almost five acres in the country, and there are a couple farms nearby. While rushing to get to our wedding date before the judge, there were stray cows, about ten of them, wandering all over our private dead end dirt road. Martin blew the horn at them and they just stood there, and went MOOOOO.... Martin and I were both amused to a certain extent, as cows are just inherently funny.
The judge lives around the corner from me, we have been unacquainted neighbors for many years. He has recently retired early, due to a big scandal involving inappropriate talk of a sexual nature on his part. Allegations only. Who really knows?
The judge scheduled marriages first on the docket. We were wed in front of several people who were shackled and wearing bright orange jumpsuits.
Everyone in the courtroom applauded loudly, even the convicts.
It was so cool.
Our second wedding was the ceremonial formal one. We got remarried at the historic wedding chapel in Howell. It was really lovely and everyone tells me what a great time they had at our dinner dance to celebrate it at the Lakelands Country Club.
