World's Best Breadsticks
Okay, so my Italian Nonna taught me how to cook. She made everything from scratch. She also did nothing but cook 24/7, all big elaborate meals. I am all about easy but I do love my Italian heritage and I do enjoy cooking so I have combined the old world with the new.
One Package Pillsbury Breadsticks
4-5 slices proscuitto, cut into small pieces minus the fatty parts
Parmesan cheese
Garlic Powder
Ground fresh pepper
Olive Oil
First of all, throw away that nasty shit spread that comes with the breadsticks. Pour a glass of wine, a nice Classico Chianti is good about now. Preheat the oven as directed on the box. Brush the breadsticks with olive oil, sprinkle them with proscuitto and twist them before you put them on the baking sheet. (They come out great on the baking stone from Pampered Chef.) After you have all the breadsticks stuffed with bad for you Italian ham, sprinkle them with the parmesan, black pepper and garlic. Sometimes I get crazy and put coarsely ground sea salt and Italian seasoning on them as well. Bake as directed and have another glass of wine while you wait.
Salut!
